Attention music teachers!!!
On Saturday, May 21 2011, I am hosting a Facebook event sponsored by the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy (NCKP), focusing on issues relevant to private music teachers. Please feel free to join in on the conversation and advice by clicking here.
Our schedule is as follows:
9 AM EST Introduction and questions posed to you
12 PM EST The Savvy Music Teacher’s Scavenger Hunt unveiled
3 PM EST Conversation about recruitment
6 PM EST Focus on websites
9 PM EST Answers to your questions, and final thoughts
Please consider participating in the NCKP Savvy Music Teacher Scavenger Hunt. The purpose of this challenge is:
1) To introduce you to resources that may be beneficial to you and your students
2) To allow you to share valuable resources with colleagues
3) To create a fun competition and give away prizes!!!
Yes, there will be prizes. One lucky participant will win an autographed copy of my book The Savvy Musician, and another will win a subscription to Clavier Companion.
NCKP will compile a list of all suggested resources, and make them available through online around the time of their July 27-30 2011 national conference. (This way, even people who can’t attend will be able to benefit from your efforts.) We will not “judge” or endorse the entries, so please make an effort to choose items that are truly valuable to music teachers.
Participants are asked to identify up to 3 valuable resources for each of the following categories:
Websites/blogs/videos
Smartphone Apps
For rules and the entry form, click here: NCKP Savvy Music Teacher Scavenger Hunt
Good luck!
[...] Check out the Kid’s Links page. Not only helpful for her students, but for teachers as well. Great resource list. (I hope she participates in the Savvy Music Teacher Scavenger Hunt!) [...]
Good day! I simply wish to give a huge thumbs up for the great data you have got here on this post. I might be coming again to your weblog for extra soon.
Whats up! I just want to give an enormous thumbs up for the nice data you may have here on this post. I will probably be coming again to your weblog for extra soon.
You hit it right on the nose! Thanks!
I tried Metronome Plus after using this give-away: http://musicmattersblog.com/2011/07/12/review-and-giveaway-of-two-cool-music-apps/
and I have to say its amazing!!! I use it almost everyday with my lessons. I’m surprised more music teachers don’t know about it. Always accurate, and easy to use.
ome truly great stuff on this internet site , I get pleasure from it.
The next time I view a blog, I sincerely hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I fully understand it was my final decision to read, but I genuinely thought you’d have things enlightening to say. All I pick up on is a bunch of complaining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.
Hey! This is my first visit to your blog! We are a collection of volunteers and starting a new project in a community in the same niche. Your blog provided us beneficial information to work on. You have done a outstanding job!
I stumbled on the online site by accident although checking Yahoo and I’m glad I did. Your submit is actually a bit totally different and I really liked reading through it. I will consequently generate a comment about this on my site and level my customers your way. Thank you.
