The First 100

It’s hard to believe, but here we are a year after this blog began, on post #101.  What a time we’ve had!

With our commitment to remaining your “Home Base for Music Careers and Entrepreneurship,” below is a summary of where we’ve been and what we’ve covered.  If you’re new to The Savvy Musician universe, here’s a chance to pinpoint some of the highlights.

TOP POSTS

While we hope that every article posted on The Savvy Musician Blog is helpful to your success, here are 10 that stand out and are highly recommended:

VIDEOS

Throughout the year, we’ve posted 25 music videos, including percussionists playing an apartment, an ice skating clarinetist, a carrot playing virtuoso, bowed piano, and the most amazing version of Bohemian Rhapsody to date.  For a music video to appear on our blog, it must meet the following criteria.

While there are hundreds of thousands of great performances captured on tape, the music videos featured on TSM blog feature musical creations that are unusual, innovative, humorous, or otherwise purple. This collection is fun–perhaps a stress reliever or diversion at a late night bash! It also provides you with an opportunity to discover new and creative musicians. Let us know if you’d like to see a video here. ENJOY!!!

We’ve also featured issue videos on a range of topics helpful or inspirational to musicians.

THE CHALLENGES

This year, we challenged students from across the globe to answer open-ended questions that are crucial to musicians through The Savvy Musician ChallengeIt is our hope that this process will open up an international dialogue while encouraging young musicians to thinking bigger.  See what they had to say.

Challenge #1: Are Musicians Truly Important?

          Challenge #2: Attracting New Audiences
